Business letter, 30 May 1720, from merchant in Charles Town, S.C., to colleague in New England, merchant and distiller Thomas Amory, requesting supplies, including materials used in trading with Indians and for the clothing and housing of slaves, including fabric and rugs. Letter advising Amory that Thomas Cutler had been transacting Logan's business in Boston under an arrangement effected prior to his acquaintance with Amory, informing Amory that the business is to be assigned to him if Cutler should decide against continuing the arrangement, and enumerating goods to be shipped: " ... 8 pcs. fine Sterling holland, Some Osnaburghs, 80 Course Ruggs for Negros, Or 3 or 4 pcs. Stript blanketing, Such as we Use for Our Indian Trade & about 3 or 400 yds. of Negro Cloth for Winter."
